Here's some more recent shots as well as progress on the build: Got around to installing my SPAL fan and Zionsville shroud/tank. Took me a couple days to troubleshoot before diving in, but once I got an understanding of it, it went in with ease. Only been a day with it, so far so good: Took the fan clutch out (ignore the worn belts ): Marked the shroud to drill holes: Team Zip-tie FTW! Tap into Green/white: All mounted up: After a quick bath: Can't wait for Bimmerfest Saturday! | | | 07-19-2013, 04:02 AM | #142 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Fl Posts: 1,353 | I really enjoy watching this car evolve. Never could find the right wires to take a signal off of so that it kicks on from the factory temp sensor. __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. The auto on/off feeds of the temp switch on the side of the radiator. There's two temperature wires on the switch (low temp / high temp) that you splice into to tell the fan to come on during either or both of those temps. I recommend either high temp or both. I'll dig up a few threads I followed to gain some background on the wiring | | | 08-28-2013, 05:13 PM | #146 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Rocky Hill, CT Posts: 1,065 | Quote: Originally Posted by BMW_Hatchback The green/white provides power to the relay to come on during start up. I even used a multimeter to test the OEM fan plug for life at different temps, and didn't come up with anything useful. Having it always running with the ignition has worked for 4 years now, but it'd be nice to have it setup "right". __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. I skimmed your thread but did not see any info on the roll bar. Is it a bolt in or custom? __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE!
