S52 swap EWS issues..

Well, my swap is all but complete, went front a 97 auto with 240k to a s52 with just over 100k along what a 5 speed getrag swap.

I used the DME, key chip, and EWS module from behind the glove box. They are all swapped into the TI, but they don't seem to be aligned. I saw that car run before it was taken apart so they should all be good to go.

I went to start the car, and no crank. Bridges pins 1 and 3 on the EWS module and she now turns over, but no fuel or spark.

Other thing that throws me off is when the key is in position 2 you can hear the fuel pump prime.

All my pin outs seem to be the same for any EWS/starter wires on the x20 connector.

Anyone have any ideas?!?

Well this actually may be a problem, take a look at the photos. Pin 20 on the m3 harness says "pin 1 x6002 data link connector" and pin 20 on the TI says "pin 12 EWS2 module and x16 pin 20 engine speed input

They are both black wires

I don't see any pin outs on the m3 harness that go to pin 12 of the ews2 module.

Ok I know EWS-II well. No crank is key is not alligned with ews module. No spark or fuel pump is EWS module is not alligned with DME ISN number. The DME has to have the correct ISN from the EWS/DME query if not the DME will not allow spark or fuel pump. What label DME are you using?

Here's a pic of my DME.



The motor came from a swapped 323, car ran before everything was pulled. Swapped key chip to my key so I didn't have to switch tumbler because mine is brand new.

Send it out have it aligned at the dealer
