Of course the day I get my suspension installed the highway was on complete lockdown... Anywho, the car needs an alignment and I have not set up the damping yet. It sits at 15 from soft in the front and 10 in the rear. I will play with that tomorrow and take pictures too. However, I must say I am very pleased. My stock stuff was obviously demolished and it really feels like I have a whole new car. Everything feels tighter and more responsive, as it should. I must say the ride was very stiff but comfortable on the way home, a bit bouncy in the rear but like I said, the damping is not set up yet. I took it on some twists and pushed it on the highway ramps and it is nice and flat and very controlled feeling. There is no braking nose dive anymore and little to no roll. I am happy with it so far, I couldn't stop giggling while driving it, it is just a completely transformed car. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 01-22-2009, 02:23 AM | #47 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | glad it worked out, I wish I had $750 to spend on suspension but this is more in my price range: http://www.ddmtuning.com/ddmtudeset.html | | | 01-22-2009, 03:37 AM | #48 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Central Florida Posts: 678 | Good for you Spider, I'm glad you like your Coils... | | | 01-23-2009, 01:05 AM | #49 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | So I played around with the damping today and ended up with 22/40 on the front and 18/40 for the back. Makes it nice and stiff yet still bearable on the crappy streets. Weight for all four corners came in at 15lbs each. I have not yet weighed the stock stuff, maybe I'll do that tomorrow. If you guys have any questions about specific stuff, I'd be happy to answer them. Some pics, car is filthy. Cheers, | There was an issue with the rear spring perches where they meet the trailing arm. Basically the "bump" on the trailing arm that the perch sits on was larger in diameter than the hole in the perch. The shop had to mill out the hole in the perch slightly to have it fit. I have contacted DDM and told them all about it. That's very true about the springs settling. I'm not planning on lowering it anymore until spring rolls around. Even then I'm not going to tuck the wheels or anything just make it look nice. Quote: Originally Posted by BMW_Hatchback happy for you Dave. They charge $332 for coilover install, 2 hours for the install, 2 hours for adjustments and other things. I got it aligned today, feels a lot better to drive. I took it to NGP Racing in Aberdeen, MD for the alignment, great shop. When the tech brought me the keys he told me that it felt really good and that he was impressed with the ride and handling. He also told me my oil filter gasket was kaput. yay... __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 01-25-2009, 03:02 AM | #55 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 144 | drop another 1.5 " in the back and 1 in the front coilovers =/= fender gap | | | 01-25-2009, 04:27 AM | #56 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Austin Posts: 3,059 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1CivetDei2 drop another 1.5 " in the back and 1 in the front coilovers =/= fender gap | +1 __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36.
