Actually swiping the card even though I was in possession of the card. This is a long overdue wakeup call. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 06-16-2011, 03:44 PM | #3 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | I've had to cancel a view of my Check Cards because of people making duplicates. It's a good thing my bank has a good policy for that sort of thing. | | | 06-16-2011, 03:59 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by BMW_Hatchback I've had to cancel a view of my Check Cards because of people making duplicates. A few weeks ago AMEX locked my card for possible fraudulent charges. I was filling up on gas every couple hours. And a few weeks before Suntrust called me because of unusual activity. Again, I was charging a lot of gas in a short period of time. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 06-16-2011, 04:03 PM | #5 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti My bank had an automatic message that called me questioning my charges. They call me when I am trying to make a purchase to authorize the purchase. Or it is a small charge that I notice myself, then I call them and they cancel the charge and refund my account instantly, no disputing necessary. My GF's credit card was recently hacked and swiped $300 worth of Chanel make up. She has BOA, and they are trying hard to screw her on a charge she did not make. I dislike them very much. | | | 06-16-2011, 04:06 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | I monitor my cards every day. Even pending charges. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 06-16-2011, 04:16 PM | #7 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | Can't find your Free Gas classified, Steve | | | 06-16-2011, 05:22 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | You all would not believe some of the stuff that goes on behind the scene. I've seen it and been on either end of it. Most of this crap is not even exposed and kept underground. It can get very nasty quick which I learned many years ago, the hard way.
