Default ///M3 brakes upgrade

so i just got my ///M3 brakes today and start with the swap, have couple pics of the comparison between the stock TI and m3 brakes.

m3 brakes r the ones with the m logos on the calipers (silvers) and the vented rotors, the other is the stock TI brakes non-vented rotors and red caliper

Real OEM calls fig 4 a king pin.
I thought it was called the steering knuckle.

Yes they're required. They are commonly referred to as spindles, but the real name is king pins. Pictured is actually an assembly of multiple parts; the wheel hub, dust shield, and spindles.

Edit; Steven beat me to it

Are you doing this for aesthetics or does the swap improve performance?

Hmm. Interesting. Thats one thing I noticed the first time I drove my new TI, the braking isn't what im used to. It took a little more pressure to stop the car than my parents MB e500. I think I am going to have to look into this. Is it expensive to do the swap?

A better swap is the E46 330.
But first, how old is your brake fluid?

Thats actually a good question. I found the car in the back of my dad's friend's auto shop. It was sitting there since December, and wasn't driven for god knows how long before that. When I picked up the car this month, the brakes were a little rusted over on the surface, but that wore off as I drove the car a little. How can I check the brake fluid and see if it needs to be replaced?
