I have a E36 316i Compact and I'm building a turbo kit. At now I've a Garrett T3 internaly wastegatted, intercooler, and some pippings. At this moment I'm having some problems with the oil lines... That's one of the biggest concerns. Other concern is the exhaust mainfold. I will be hand-made in a exhaust shop and I still don't know were to put the turbo... If I put it in the lower part of the engine, It will have a small space to work with it. If I put it in the upper part of the engine like this one: http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=xRXe58Y1p14 , I will have to relocate the ignition coils... The questions that always came up were "where you gonna get an intake manifold" and "how you gonna get that thing smogged" and the answer was always "I'll deal with that hurdle when I get to it." What it comes down to is this: if you don't have a clear understanding of the tecnical limitations of a project, and don't have a solid game plan in terms of parts you'll be using (as well as sourcing for those parts), anticipated boost, anticipated compression ratio, coolant line routing, piping, etc, etc... you're setting yourself up FTL. btw... after three years my friend was selling off his various parts on ebay after deciding he "didn't have enough time" to finish the project. that, and he had his Saturn voluntarily reposessed because he couldn't make the payments on his loan anymore. not trying to discourage you, dude... just do a lot more research, especially regarding the Ti, because there isn't much free space under the hood, and as far as I know, there aren't too many folks who have done it on a budget. Anyone have ideias? | That is not a problem at all. Just do a coil on plug conversion. There are a few guys on m42club that sell a plate that allows you to use a coil directly attached the the sparkplug, instead of using a coil-pack with plugs wires. There is an E30 m42 DM class turbo on bimmerforums. I'm pretty sure I've posted links to his build before. They went to a COP conversion and cut the brackets for the coil pack off the car, also ditch the washer fluid bottle.
