No doubt... then we will have to hit up the autox and track days!

It's back!

Well, not really back back but I am going to start working on it again once the E46 is back together in the next week or so. The wheels and seats were donated to the M50 Club Sport project so I will need to address those items eventually.

To start I am going to pull the complete drivetrain including the rear trailing arms. I have M Coupe arms, a 3:46 LSD, and the transmission from an M Coupe to install. Then I will take on the engine, I am hoping I can get by with a stock rebuild for now but I will not know until I get inside.

Now that the M50 Club Sport is gone I have the itch to drive a swapped ti!

Be careful with the M Coupe transmission. Some additional service is suggested. http://webspace.ringling.edu/~dplass...hift_pins.html

While I don't have all the tools to do this job I do have the majority of what you will need for the rebuild. If you were closer I was love to give a hand.

That is a great write up. I actually have to do that repair to my coupe, I have the parts already just have not made the time for it yet.

If you were closer I would love some help. I have been building this car in my head for years, while the engine will not be exactly what I want it should be a pretty fun car none the less!

What else do you want to do to the engine.

If the stock rebuild goes well I will add cams and a big bore throttle body... with the 3.5 maf, 24lbs injectors, and intake I should be close to 300 hp at the flywheel.

...but, my intent was to use the aluminum block 2.8 that I have but I am going to save that for another project. I would like to do something different eventually, maybe a high compression S50 or an S54.

I just picked up a set of M Contours with a few scratches and a bit of curb rash. I will be painting these... any color suggestions? Keep in mind the color of the car.

Meh... black is the one color I would NOT use. Every monkey in the jungle has black wheels these days.

It depends on what sort of look you're going for too. I.e., do you want to keep it looking like "an adult-driven and sophisticated BMW" or like "a flashy 'hey look at me' teen-agers car." ;-)

Seriously though... I like the standard sliver/gray with a blue car. A darker shade of silver/gray would probably look good and be a little different from stock.

I'm sorry that I don't have any really interesting suggestions, I mostly just wanted to use the phrase "every monkey in the jungle" because I just thought of that phrase. LOL

I think silver centers with polished lips look good.

Jess did you remember I bought those superleggeras a while back? Good memory.

I plan on using those for track tires I have 2 sets of them for the E46 in 19and I'm a a bit superleggera'd out.

For the Contours I was thinking:

Stock Silver
Dark Graphite
White - Since my wife thinks Contours look like soccer balls this would complete that look.
