Default 95 318ti Engine swap question

For a while, I've been thinking about doing a swap, the 1.8 just doesn't cut it anymore for me. I want to know what engines can I fit in the body with little or no modification to the engine compartment. Also I want to know what all I'll need to switch or modify for that swap, such as transmission or suspension parts.

I'm sure one of the swap guys will find their way and chime in in a short amount of time.

that would be any engine out of another E36, from a 323, 325, 328 or M3, because of the OBD, you would need to get one out of a 92-95 car
