Default O2 sensor problem

I recently scanned my engine using OBD II and got a trouble code P0440. I figured it was a bad O2 sensor but I'm not sure if it is the one before of after the cat. Does anyone know if that code refers to bank 1 (before the cat.) or bank 2 (after the cat)?

If you have a '95 318ti (same like mine) then you should only have ONE O2 sensor on the car!

if he had a 95 like yours with only one o2 sensor, then it wouldn't be OBD2 and he couldn't have scanned the code.

Good point OBDII didnt come out until 96. It does have two senors and unfortunatly i dont know which one is defective. Im bring it into a import tech. that i know tomorrow. Hopefully it wont be too expensive. Its one of the two O2 sensors or the cat. I hope which ever one is cheaper.
