The M-tech springs are the exact same springs except for the color. I found this out the hard way....and had to eat the cost of shipping for the return. Plus one of their reps confirmed this, unfortunately after the fact. These have 95k on them and are structurally intact=no cracks or bends. Pix to follow. $100 incl. shipping in US only. __________________ '99 ti /Mtechnic, Schwartz II, Meyle Control Arms w/Full Metal Ball Joints, PowerFlex poly LCAB's, Pirelli P Zero/Nero 225/50/16, "the d-baffle"...... | | | 09-12-2007, 03:37 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Florida Posts: 1,595 | I doubt they are exact since my bavauto are extremely low, but the mtech springs are a really good upgrade and great price. | | | 09-12-2007, 04:20 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | yeah is not the same cause i change the M-Sport Springs for the bavauto springs and the car is way different __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 09-12-2007, 04:21 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Boston Posts: 10 | The Bavauto spring are not the same as the factory BMW m-tech springs, not even close. The m-tech springs are much nicer. I would highly recommend the m-tech springs in combination with the Sachs "Advantage" dampers. If you can get a hold of them, the Sachs "Performance kit" is even better. They are a combination of Eibach Pro springs and stiffer performance dampers. __________________ 1996 318ti Sport Sachs Advantage Shocks/M-Tech Springs, Dinan Stage II: Intake and Software, SuperSprint Dual Round Tip Exhaust | | | 09-12-2007, 07:04 AM | #5 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | So if you sent the BavAuto's back, what are you running now? __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | 09-13-2007, 12:57 AM | #6 | Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Los Angeles Posts: 55 | I agree that I would prefer the M-tech springs over Bav auto. I have Bav auto springs now, but I am thinking in putting back my m-tech springs. I only got the bav springs because they were $175 when purchasing bilstein shocks together. The factory springs are firmer I think. __________________ 1998 Hellrot sport 318ti 2005 Jet Black 545i SMG 2006 Honda Odyssey (for kids and wives) | | | 09-13-2007, 06:02 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Atlanta, GA Posts: 70 | Are these springs still available? | | | 09-17-2007, 07:50 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: San Francisco Posts: 308 | Yes they are still available! And notice shipping is included; which means you're really only paying about $65-70 for these babies! I am running H&R sports, wanted the ride to be a little bit lower. __________________ '99 ti /Mtechnic, Schwartz II, Meyle Control Arms w/Full Metal Ball Joints, PowerFlex poly LCAB's, Pirelli P Zero/Nero 225/50/16, "the d-baffle"...... | | | 09-17-2007, 09:36 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Deadpan- What do you think of the ride quality of the HR's vs. the sports? __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 10-09-2007, 07:02 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: San Francisco Posts: 308 | well that was quite a vacation, sorry for the delay in getting back to you all. for parties interested in buying these; i'll be contacting you in order (first to pm me, etc. gets first dibs). cali, as far as ride quality goes, i think the description of H&R oe sports, vs. sports, vs. race on the understeer.com website is well....i couldn't put it any better myself! alittle lower, alittle stiffer.....i think -a nicer profile. __________________ '99 ti /Mtechnic, Schwartz II, Meyle Control Arms w/Full Metal Ball Joints, PowerFlex poly LCAB's, Pirelli P Zero/Nero 225/50/16, "the d-baffle"...... | | | 10-09-2007, 07:35 PM | #11 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Great springs at a great price. For those who want a significantly better ride without lowering your car too much, OE Mtech sport springs are the way to go. __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | 10-11-2007, 08:17 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Va Posts: 256 | Quote: Originally Posted by timonster I would highly recommend the m-tech springs in combination with the Sachs "Advantage" dampers. I can't find anything but the stock Sachs/Boge dampers. Also, is it possible that the kit you are talking about is the Eibach Pro kit, and that Sachs makes the dampers?
