Default Cold Air Intake

I'm looking to find someone that knows of a cold air intake to fit in my '98 Ti. I want something that will extend as low as possible to pick up the most air.

i would suggest looking at the Cosmo.com site. Its what i have. it extend down behind the fog light on the drivers side right where the the brake air duct is at. not bad for like $120 or so.

Thanks,
I tried the Cosmo site but it's just a search engine..I'm not sure if that's what you meant or not...and by the way, did you upgrade with a custom exhaust, and computer chip as well? I was told those are the three things to do in order to really experience a change in performance without having to do major modifications...

stromung makes good exhaust for our cars and supersprint. try cosmoracing.com they have nice cold air intakes for around 100$ for our cars. and since you have a 98 which is obd11 and they dont make chips for our m44 engines. after 96 and up you have to get your ecu flashed or reprogammed to get more hp out of the 4 cyld. dinan makes a power programmer for our cars for around 300 or so.

oh, oops. meant cosmoracing.com, by bad. umm... i havent done the other upgrades yet. i put on an aftermarket exhaust but it was just too loud for me and annoying so i put on the stock one on again. think im gonna save my money for the supersprint and hopefully a group by will occur sometime or something or maybe even go with the dinan exhuast. i know they are more expensive too . im wanting to do the ecu software upgrade soon when i get the money too. im assuming it'd put up the HP to like 150hp? im not sure on the numbers. other than that, you'd have to get a supercharger if u want any major HP gain. sucks. but the car is fun to drive anyhow.

ok cool- yeah I just checked out the cosmo site and they have a lot of good stuff...I have a mechanic in Raleigh that knows someone who will fit a custom exhaust and piping for me for around $300. So I'm looking to get that done, by the cosmo intake evo 3.5" for $135, and then get the ecu upgrade flashed. I'll probably have that done by January or so I hope because I need to get some rims fast and I'm also buying some alpine white m3 style mirrors within the month for $125. So much to do, so little time..I mean money!

I also have a Carbonio. Looks sweet, gives some more kick to the car, and it is a super easy install (this is coming from a guy who has never worked on cars before). Plus it really gives a great sound that turns heads. I have a stock exhaust so the sound is really noticeable from the outside. Makes it sound like I have a lot more engine work done to my car other then an intake. Nice buy L8t!!!
Good luck finding the right one

Hey L8t, have you had yours for a while? I've had mine for 3-4 months and I'm not sure if I should take it out for a cleaning before the snow really starts to hit the ground. How often should it be cleaned, and what is the procedure for cleaning it?

I pull the filter out once a year, and use the standard K & N cleaner/recharger kit. You can buy the kit at most auto parts stores.

I've had my CAI for about 2 years. Sounds great, along with the Stromung exhaust.
