Forgiver the double post as I originally placed this message in the lounge by mistake: Hi foks, I purchased my 98 BMW TI in 2000 from a dealer in NJ who had just got it back off a lease from a woman who traded in for an SUV. I purchased the car with 28K miles and in my eight years have only put on 56K miles myself. It has been garage kept here in So Cal for all 8 years I have owned. This car has been babied as are all my cars. The car has been trouble free, except for Drivers side window which needed to be repaired(recently). I think that was a known problem. Dealer commented to me that he has never seen a cleaner 318ti. I have just had the oil changed, the A/C charged and new tires were put on at @60K miles. It is the metalic Green, Sport model w/ sunroof. Automatic, light grey leather interior. I had the standard 6 speaker Harman Kardo radio & speakers, sorry for those of you who dig this sound system BUT I replaced with recently with a Pioneer head unit, Amplifier and Polk audio sound system, all professionally installed. Yes - this car ROCKS!!! This car is exceptional condition, no accidents only driven sparingly(I own three cars), mostly the Grocery store car. I feel like I want a change so I am offering this car at $8500, please only serious inquiries: palmsprings_shirl@yahoo.com I'll gladly send photos | | | 06-10-2008, 06:58 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | ask a mod to delete the other thread __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 06-10-2008, 07:02 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Palm Springs Posts: 24 | I will, sorry and thanks for your patience with the newby! | | | 06-10-2008, 07:04 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | no worries at all. good luck with the sale and get some pictures to help this sale __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 06-10-2008, 10:26 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | don't worry, we were all newbies at some point I notice you said it's a sport model with a leather interior, are you sure it's not just a base/active with the M-tech kit on it? sport models came with a two-tone leather/cloth interior | | | 06-10-2008, 10:50 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Palm Springs Posts: 24 | Hey there, thanks fro the response, regarding it being a sport model...that is what the dealer told me back when. The interior is a two tone leather grey but no cloth. It has the upgraded BMW five spoke alloy wheels. When I was purchasing the car there was another model 318 ti that did not have these rims and the guy purchasing that car tried to get the dealer to swap out the rims and I said no deal with out these rims. It has the sunroof, and when I recently upgraded the sound system the stero shop said it acutally had 8 speakers but I was sure that the upgraded Harman Kardon system only had 6 speakers. You folks would know better than me. I appreciate the interst, and will get some pics uploaded by tomorrow. I've already one interested party so I'm hoping that someone who truly appreciates these cars will the one to own it as it is not being listed anywhere else, for now at least. Thanks everyonme for your help and input! | | | 06-10-2008, 10:55 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | premium sound systems have 10 speakers basic ti sound systems have 6 also i must see this interior. do the seats have 5 levers to adjust or just 3? __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 06-10-2008, 11:04 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Palm Springs Posts: 24 | It had the 6 disc cd changer, for speakers, in the front there are two speakers up around the inner kick panels also in the front are two sets of speakers(I beleive midrange and tweeter) ther is another set of speaker in the very rear and you are most likely correct as the speaker tech told me each side in the back had two separate speakers one was a 4 inch set and the other was a two inch set. I replaced the 4 inch set with Polk Audio and also replaced the two 6 inch panel speakers in the front with Polk Audio. No cloth interior, not sure what to tell you about sport vs base. Pictures wont happen until tomorrow. I do appreciate your interest if there is an issue with sport vs base than this car may not be for you and you should hold out for a Sport model. Good questions, I'm learning a lot from you guys. | | | 06-10-2008, 11:10 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | you have premium sound thats for sure. what about the adjustments for the seats? 3 levers or 5? __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 06-10-2008, 11:21 PM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Palm Springs Posts: 24 | Regarding 3 or 5 levers ... the car is at the detailers getting all spiffied up so I'm trying to remember(really do not drive it much) but I want to think it is three lever adjustment. Again the dealer said sport and the rims where supposed to be the upgraded Sport rims but heck, we know how the dealers will tell a gal anything. I actually drove it down to the BMW dealer here in Palm Springs just a few hours ago to look at a Z4 and of course the sales rep runs right out and said "...your not giving that car up are you, we rarely see them anymore and not one in this condition...". | | | 06-10-2008, 11:21 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Laguna Beach Posts: 357 | Green Ti For Sale. Does the car have cruise control? if so, that is usually the middle model (active). See the Ti Companion on the Forum top page, click on the BMW Roundel on the banner to go there, then follow the link to the Companion for a description of the various options and features. I have a daughter that might also be interested, although the $ are a bit high. Could you forward pictures to me (Private Mail) or post up on the site? Thanks And welcome to the 318ti.org. To bad you just found us, could have been useful while you have the Ti, but now to sell... Good Luck with the sale. You folks are the expewts/enthusiasts. I appreciate that your daughter may be interested and please, no offense, but this car to me ... well it is more for the BMW TI enthusiast. It's low, low mileage and condition and rarety warrant my asking price. I'm not inflexible and obviously the first person with the cash closet to my asking price(hopefully a ti lover)or at asking price will be the owner. What an active group you folks are!!! | | | 06-10-2008, 11:42 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | all active models will have the cruise control but they were also options in all the tis as well so a base and a sport may have cruise __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 06-11-2008, 12:02 AM | #15 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Palm Springs Posts: 24 | You know, it was 8 years ago but I recall the dealer also saying something about this being the California edition/model???? Also, it is a 98 but I do not see info anywhere on a 98 model being made or at least not shipped here to US. I thought 98 was the last year of production in the US for this car, am I wrong???? | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
