I just bought a NOS from a friend for $50. I was wondering if it would be safe to fill CO2 into a 15lb NOS cylinder? I'm planning to hook it up as a emergency engine coolant/extinguisher with a flip of a switch in the cockpit.

nos is just oxidized nitrogen but Co2 is a liquid that turns into a gas so i dont think that it wouldnt not work but i think it would be more safe to have an appropriate tank for co2 BTW what exactly do you want a Co2 tank for again elaborate please?
In case in my engine catches on fire, or if it over heats, i can flip a switch while in the cockpit, and it will shoot out CO2 directly into the engine bay. I want to be prepared for the summer since it gets really hot down here. And many ti's have been known to over heat in the Texas. It's the whole reason why the previous owner had to replace my engine.

im still laughing about this theory of yours as i am typing this because first if you wanted to make this work you would need a tank then hoses, couplings a solenoid and alot of time and effort would be wasted to have something that would be very unique but it would serve absolutely no purpose. you have to ask yourself why your engine would catch on fire. IT WOULDN'T, gasoline can catch on fire but if your so worried about that then get a automotive fire extinguisher
here is a chart for the temperature of gasoline at its ignition points and it spontaneous combustion levels
im not shooting your idea down but there are easier ways to do things, for example whenever i go to car shows i take LOTS of pictures but i only had a 128mb card for my camera. The logical thing to go was to get a bigger card for my camera but instead i got build a computer into my car that cost 50 times more then the cost of a 1 gig flash card.
my point is simplicity is the best thing when engineering something
You can't hook up the kit to a 4 cylinder. You'd blow your engine. I even asked 3 custom mechanic shops in my area. None of them want to be responsible for a engine blowing on engine that can't handle it. Especially on a auto. The kit came with everything including the purge.
What can I say, i'm bored... If it doesn't blow out the fire, then i'll just use it as a emergency coolant.
