If im not mistaken, back when they were first produced, the supersprint was top of the line for performance over stock, not to mention the sound is great. Best bang for the buck with the 4 cyls is a chip, lightweight flywheel, 3.73 or 4.10 LSD, and pure maintenance. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 06-10-2009, 02:26 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: new york Posts: 511 | yeah engine swaps are the way to go i wanna put in a 2jz LOL | | | 06-10-2009, 02:27 AM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Dayton, OH Posts: 14 | im just lookin for some kind of an exhaust system, since mine is all jacked up | | | 06-10-2009, 02:32 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | Have one made with another aftermarket muffler, 2.25" and try to keep it as straight as possible also without crushing it to go under the subframe. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 06-10-2009, 02:55 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | bavauto.com carries a few exhausts for the ti, but it would be cheaper to just buy a Magnaflow and have a custom exhaust made by a shop, which would also give you a broader choice of tips | | | 06-10-2009, 10:57 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Dayton, OH Posts: 14 | yeah i really dont want some rice pos muffler, thats why i was looking for a site that would carry higher brand names. i know when i was really into VW's, there were plenty of nice exhausts. what about a brake upgrade? anyone? | | | 06-10-2009, 11:44 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | From the brakes forum... http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24547 Remus, Stromung, Supersprint all good exhaust systems for the ti. understeer.com bimmerbum.com bavauto.com bimmerworld.com turnermotorsport.com ecstuning.com Nothing ti specific but plenty of sites that sell parts for the ti. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 06-11-2009, 01:03 AM | #11 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Dayton, OH Posts: 14 | cool thanks alot | | | 06-11-2009, 02:37 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | rice pos muffler? Magnaflow is a pretty high quality brand and it's one of the few universal mufflers that don't sound too ricey on the 4-bangers | | | 06-11-2009, 03:35 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Columbia MD Posts: 215 | Quote: Originally Posted by Bluebimma 3.73 or 4.10 LSD | Yeah, this is a fantastic performance upgrade for the ti. A shorter geared diff will really let you use the M44 better- you will keep it higher in the power band, where the engine is putting out it's best performance. You will need to look after the engine (regular oil changes, etc) but you would have to do this with any engine performance mod. Especially with a limited slip diff- it will change the character of the ti, and really make it into the sportscar that it can/should be. __________________ *Except 318ti '97 318ti M-Sport '95 M3 BMWCCA | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
