I guess anything is possible, but I wouldn't consider it even if I had the money.

300hp is just too much for this little car, not to mention all the custome stuff you would need to do.
Why not just find a S54 motor?
The install will be a bit easier.

Why would you try to put such new technology into such an old car? The s54 is possible, but even within itself, isnt worth it. There isnt much aftermarket for it, and what actually is out there is hella expensive. You can install an m50 and turbo and easily make 300+ on 8-9psi and a cerservative tune.

I'd rather have the seats from a 135.

i know it would be a pain in the ass. i guess im goign to have to research all the sensors and what id have to do with them. that would be a crazy car. but its going to take me over a year to save up for the car (thats with regular spending and cigs accounted for) so i have time to think about what i want to do. i was thinking about gets a 3.2 s52... the 3.2 m3 is a s52 right? anyways thats what i thought about but alot of people have done it. and i heard its a pain to get a turbo setup put together, and have read alot about people starting and stopping that.. either way i have time to think. and how would it be hard to get the 3.0 fitted when i have seen a 5.0 mustang fitted into this engine bay?

LOOK AT THIS 350ti ---> http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthrea...ighlight=350ti

the actual fit wouldn't be a problem, but an engine out of a new BMW will have a lot more sensors and electronics than the stock M42 or M44, or even that Ford 5.0, and you'll have to get all if not most of them hooked up and working properly if you ever want to drive the car

i know. i can drop the motor in myself. me and my friend have done a few blown honda swaps in our old high school shop. i know this will be a little bit harder but the final goal seams worth it. a twin turbo rearwheel drive manual without all the weight of the new beemers... ooohh it sounds nice. only problem im gonna have is saving up that kind of money and getting the wiring done. im going to look into shops around here in az to see who knows what about beemers to wire it up right for me. i just want to get it wired enough to take it around for a test drive around the block and make sure it runs right before i go pay someone to wire it up for me.

that would be groundbreaking if you did do it

The ibus system will give you the biggest problem, but depending how you get the Engine, ecu, ews and instrument cluster dialed in

But aside from the high pressure fuel pump faliure , and complaints of turbo lag.. its a good engine ... i think

1. Jess, i am not manny, dont know manny, and dont care for a dasc kit. if i wanted to turbo my stock 1.9 setup i would have posted a thread about that. i want something above and beyond what he wants.
2. Mallard, i heard the n54 does not have any turbo lag, due to the way BMW set up their tt. It was built to have the low end torue, not the high hp you would want from a turbo, but the torque you need.

P.s. jess, that guy doesnt want torque. im not stupid i know torque is where the race is won. Torque wins races, HP wins trophies at car shows. Please dont embarrass me again saying im him, not knowing what he wants. i mean my goal is a little extreme, but i have an idea for what im doing, he just wants more power because the modding grew on him. i want this because i have driven a 09 328i and my dads 530i knowing what BMW is capable of i want to push its limits doings something unseen. fitting a new engine is a 13 year old car? call me crazy but 2800lbs being pushed by ~330hp is badass. im i just might be stupid enough to try the swap if i can get myself to saving this money.

of all the N series engines, the 335i is the waekest in terms of durability ..

search hpfp on www.e90post.com and see for yourself. Many have bought the 335 and sadly not got what they expected

Mallard, i've seen your postings on here, i know you know your bmw's. since this was a blind sight goal for me can you help me out with a block? i mean the n54 sounded good, i've only heard good things about it, and honestly i didnt put much research into other turbo bmw engines. which one do you think is better?

P.S. again for jess, i just checked out that guys thread and pictures. He has some wheels that you would see on a 90's silverado, with a mexican on the inside. his spoiler is something id dread seeing on any car, let alone a bimmer. his spoiler is bigger than the car. my car is still stock, down to my wheels.
