The LSD will work with some additional parts. Half shafts and flanges. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-19-2009, 10:17 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | you could get the disc brake setup off a 318ti, or if you want something more you could swap the rear trailing arms from a Z3 M coupe or roadster | | | 07-20-2009, 03:47 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti Rear brakes and rear suspension won't work. If you are doing the 3L motor swap you may want to consider a rear subframe from a 6 cyl Z3 or MZ3. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 07-20-2009, 04:53 PM | #5 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by 96cali I didn't think the large case diffs worked at all? | You're correct Phil, the e36 diff will not mount to the ti. The mounting points are completely different. I think Steven may have been thinking about the Z3 diff. | | | 07-20-2009, 06:46 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by cooljess76 You're correct Phil, the e36 diff will not mount to the ti. The trailingarms are stronger, always LSD (mid-case), bigger half shafts and M3 brakes. __________________ S50B32, manual 6-speed, LSD, Z3 M rear axle, ///M sport package, 17" LTW's, Eibach Pro-Kit | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
