Can not get instant notification to work on this forum

I've never successfully gotten the instant email notification (or any notification) of my subscribed threads to work on this forum (although I've had no problem with any other online community.)

I've confirmed my email address is correct.
I've selected "instant notification" by email for the pertinent threads.
I've checked my spam folder - nothing.

What else to check?

Did you not see?

operaflute, You will not be able to post until your email address has been verified.

Not sure how you could post, but your email address was never verified.
You should be able to get email notifications now.
