One has an "asking price" of $7999, 86k miles, 1998 red sport, M-tech, 5 speed sunroof. The other is also a 1998 sport, asking $6800 130k miles, DASC, Dinan. How much would the DASC kill the gas mileage? Would it still get around the same as long as you don't have a lead foot? So, I guess the dilema is lower miles or more performance? This will be an occasional driver to help minimize the impact of my 12mpg Nissan Titan, as well as sporty drives up the canyons. Currently I have a 1991 318is for that, just looking for something a little newer, with better A/C, etc. | | | 09-16-2008, 05:19 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | hands down the dasc ti. the SC was discontinued and it would be tough trying to find one in good condition. | | | 09-16-2008, 05:31 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Utah Posts: 16 | Quote: Originally Posted by angel318ti hands down the dasc ti. the SC was discontinued and it would be tough trying to find one in good condition. | How reliable are the DASC's? How reliable is the engine once a DASC has been installed? | | | 09-16-2008, 05:32 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Check the induction forum for the FAQ on Forced Induction, should answer some of your questions. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 09-16-2008, 05:36 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Utah Posts: 16 | Also, is the DASC going to pass smog and inspection in most states? Will I like the 318ti that much more than my E30 318is? I like it a lot. It would be a lot cheaper to fix the AC on my 318is than to buy a 318ti. | | | 09-16-2008, 05:53 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | Get the Ti with the DASC. For one they stopped making the DASC so it would be harder to find one. | | | 09-16-2008, 08:46 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Utah Posts: 16 | Anyone in Tampa? If you ever plan to sell your DASC, I wouldn't mind giving cash($1-2k depending on the miles) plus my stock parts so that we could both benefit. __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. I would rather have a well maintained stock car than a neglected modded car. I believe that the DASC is a 50 state CARB legal kit, so you're ok in passing smog tests or what not. __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. Not so stock anymore!.... It would be well worth spending 200 dollars on getting important numbers done. | | | 09-17-2008, 04:03 PM | #14 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Utah Posts: 16 | Quote: Originally Posted by M-technik-3 I would sugget getting a prepurchase inspection by a neutral party prior to purchasing it. If I see it at all before buying it, I want to make sure the car is in good shape before I fly out there to buy it. | | | 09-17-2008, 04:15 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Globally Posts: 1,162 | Have a good title search done on it as well, there have been numerous title wash nightmares in Florida. Most of them being E30 M3 and E36 M3's back a few years ago. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
